The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. José Paulo Mello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 6 minutes into the match, Cercadinho's goalkeeper Rogério Ceni had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Germano Pernambucano. 9 minutes into the match, José Paulo Mello had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Intxixu Porregimon. Mexilhão F. C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Paulo Mello was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 14th minute José Paulo Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Intxixu Porregimon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mexilhão F. C.'s Anaia Barba got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 18th minute, José Paulo Mello left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cercadinho fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 21 minutes into the match, Ernesto Félix had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rogério Ceni. Cercadinho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernesto Félix was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After a rather tough play, Mexilhão F. C.'s Germano Pernambucano got a free kick in the 25th minute. Ronaldinho Romero in the 29thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rogério Ceni, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Rogério Ceni was a little too slow when Anaia Barba got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 2-2. After some careless play in the Mexilhão F. C. defense, José Paulo Mello kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Intxixu Porregimon. The Mexilhão F. C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Intxixu Porregimon should have stopped the shot. Arvin Larsson kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when José Paulo Mello came free, but Intxixu Porregimon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 46 minutes Mexilhão F. C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dito Tasso who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Dito Tasso got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Intxixu Porregimon quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The Mexilhão F. C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cercadinho were winning 2-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anaia Barba to strike the kick off in the second half. Rogério Ceni didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Germano Pernambucano went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. 57 minutes into the match, Cercadinho's José Paulo Mello sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Intxixu Porregimon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 59th minute, Ronaldinho Romero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Intxixu Porregimon came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Cercadinho's José Paulo Mello. But to his dismay, José Paulo Mello quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. The audience was convinced that José Paulo Mello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Intxixu Porregimon was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. William de Castro hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. A collision led to Cercadinho getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. William de Castro hit a great ball. 82 minutes into the game, Cercadinho's Valiente Venezian nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Intxixu Porregimon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-6. After some careless play in the Mexilhão F. C. defense, Valiente Venezian kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Intxixu Porregimon. The Mexilhão F. C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Intxixu Porregimon should have stopped the shot.
