The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mexilhão F. C.'s Abel de Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 6 played minutes Mayhem Sharks got a freekick which was hit by Thomás Mandrak. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedrão Mello in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wellington de Almeida saved Mayhem Sharks from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedrão Mello in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wellington de Almeida prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 9 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Mayhem Sharks's Narciso Dias fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. With a little luck, Mexilhão F. C.'s Intxixu Porregimon got control of the ball when Fachtna Duggan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wellington de Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedrão Mello in the 12th minute of the match. Abel de Lara hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute, Anaia Barba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wellington de Almeida was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Dias in the 21st minute of play forced Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Intxixu Porregimon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Osvaldo da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Intxixu Porregimon having to interfere. Osvaldo da Mata could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Intxixu Porregimon made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldinho Romero in the 27th minute of play forced Mayhem Sharks's goalkeeper Wellington de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Intxixu Porregimon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fachtna Duggan. With a little luck, Mexilhão F. C.'s Intxixu Porregimon got control of the ball when Fachtna Duggan tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Germano Pernambucano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 40 minutes into the game, Srđa Vulić was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mayhem Sharks's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexilhão F. C. the free kick. A collision led to Mayhem Sharks getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Srđa Vulić hit a great ball. Anaia Barba took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wellington de Almeida. Wellington de Almeida dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Wellington de Almeida didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pedrão Mello went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedrão Mello stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Mayhem Sharks's goalkeeper Wellington de Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anaia Barba. Mayhem Sharks's Wellington de Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrão Mello in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo da Mata came free, but Intxixu Porregimon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedrão Mello received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wellington de Almeida came out and tried to block the shot, but Pedrão Mello slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 59th minute. Germano Pernambucano's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Wellington de Almeida firmly grabbed it by the left post. Arvin Larsson hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After having played for 72 minutes, Anaia Barba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexilhão F. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Anaia Barba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Germano Pernambucano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Wellington de Almeida made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anaia Barba in the 76th minute of play forced Mayhem Sharks's goalkeeper Wellington de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Mayhem Sharks's Arcadio Valdés got a free kick in the 78th minute. After 80 played minutes Mayhem Sharks got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo da Mata. A hard shot 82 in the game by Pedrão Mello from a close distance when the talented Wellington de Almeida managed to make a qualified save. Mayhem Sharks's players were relieved. Intxixu Porregimon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fachtna Duggan, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Mexilhão F. C.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
