Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ian York started the match with the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Ian York kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Theo Groom. That made the score 1-0 in the 4 minute of play. River Thames FC's Trev Cahill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Robson in the 12th minute of play. Theo Groom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian York, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. When Marcus Swift came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the River Thames FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcus Swift couldn't finish the play. Theo Groom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian York, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. River Thames FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tod Cartwright in the 18th minute. Theo Groom made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcus Swift in the 19th minute. After a rather tough play, River Thames FC's Stuart Ratcliffe got a free kick in the 21st minute. Trev Cahill came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by East Ham United's Quentin Bell. But to his dismay, Quentin Bell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Quentin Bell in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Trev Cahill prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind East Ham United's goalkeeper Theo Groom, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With his leg Theo Groom managed to avoid a goal in the 42ndth minute, when River Thames FC's Marcus Swift fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 44th minute, Harry Robson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Trev Cahill was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. In the 47th match minute, River Thames FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian York to maneuver through the defense. The River Thames FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. East Ham United were winning 1-3.

In the 53rd match minute, River Thames FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerome Cartwright to maneuver through the defense. Theo Groom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Swift in the 57th minute of play. Aras Görkem Zümer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theo Groom having to interfere. A collision led to East Ham United getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Martyn Preston hit a great ball. In the 67th minute Marcus Swift shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theo Groom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Theo Groom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Swift in the 69th minute of the match. Trev Cahill was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Harry Robson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 74 minute of play. Martyn Preston's late challenge caught a River Thames FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martyn Preston helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th match minute, East Ham United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martyn Preston to maneuver through the defense. Theo Groom came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by River Thames FC's Ian York. But to his dismay, Ian York quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Theo Groom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian York in the 88th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Harry Robson notched a goal, 2-5, to the right of River Thames FC's Trev Cahill. Trev Cahill was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 95th minute, Tod Cartwright hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute, Quentin Bell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of East Ham United booed when River Thames FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristian Laycock didn't get a good kick on the ball. East Ham United's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
