Cléberson Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quinn McBjarton having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cléberson Mendonça got free with Quinn McBjarton in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Cléberson Mendonça kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Quinn McBjarton. That made the score 3-0 in the 45 minute of play.

Limerick AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cléberson Mendonça was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. When Gill Holt was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 72 minutes had been played. In the 72nd match minute, Limerick AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gill Holt to maneuver through the defense. Clapham Rovers made a substitution. Jools Holland replaced Cléberson Mendonça. Gill Holt kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 81st minute, João Francisco Toscano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Quinn McBjarton was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Clapham Rovers's Damien Quinn was substituted for Alex Gibson. Quinn McBjarton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jools Holland went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. When the referee ended the match the Clapham Rovers players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
