Joélson dos Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Thiago Paraense made a huge save. Valdir Batista struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Thiago Paraense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for EC Rodrigus MZ. After 16 played minutes EC Rodrigus MZ got a freekick which was hit by Valdir Batista. 19 minutes into the game, Barış Eslem was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sandecja's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave EC Rodrigus MZ the free kick. A collision led to Sandecja getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Barış Eslem hit a great ball. In the 21st minute Pedro Guilherme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the game, Pedro Guilherme cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Thiago Paraense was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 23 played minutes EC Rodrigus MZ got a freekick which was hit by Délio Cerezo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joélson dos Santos got free with Thiago Paraense in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joélson dos Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago Paraense having to interfere. Cyryl Cichocki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sandecja's Thiago Paraense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdir Batista in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdir Batista in the 41st minute of play forced Sandecja's goalkeeper Thiago Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Sandecja defense, Valdir Batista kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thiago Paraense. The Sandecja fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thiago Paraense should have stopped the shot. Narciso Eusko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cyryl Cichocki in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cyryl Cichocki to strike the kick off in the second half. Thiago Paraense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Gustavo Trevisan, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Sandecja's goal looked a bit too open when Joélson dos Santos came free, but Thiago Paraense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
