Brooklyn SC's Osvaldo Cadena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hayati Tokyüz in the 9th minute of play. Lokomotiv Bornova's Çağan Demren got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 24 minutes into the game, Lokomotiv Bornova's Serter Çağnur nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Osvaldo Cadena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 30th minute of the match, Mehmet Fatih Özakay got a very nice opportunity to score, but Osvaldo Cadena was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 32nd minute Serter Çağnur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Cadena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osvaldo Cadena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hayati Tokyüz, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After having played for 42 minutes, Randall Haynes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brooklyn SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Randall Haynes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pascal Dailey to make the kick off. Randall Haynes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Lokomotiv Bornova getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Artaç Dalmaz hit a great ball. Scot Lincoln fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kahraman Kunter having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lokomotiv Bornova fans cheered their team off the field, for while Brooklyn SC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
