The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Damian Rito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Johann Scheuerer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 7 minutes into the match, Cesar Jenaro notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Rot-Weiss-Essen's Johann Scheuerer. Johann Scheuerer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Damian Rito sped through Rot-Weiss-Essen's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Johann Scheuerer. Johann Scheuerer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damian Rito in the 15th minute of the match. Cesar Jenaro struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Johann Scheuerer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alvarado de Mar del Plata. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Rito in the 22nd minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper Johann Scheuerer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teodosio Macerio made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Halil Winskowsky sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Rot-Weiss-Essen defense, Damian Rito kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Johann Scheuerer. The Rot-Weiss-Essen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Johann Scheuerer should have stopped the shot. Johann Scheuerer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesar Jenaro in the 35th minute of play. Luis Nicolin kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the game, Noel Erler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rot-Weiss-Essen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alvarado de Mar del Plata the free kick. If Cesar Jenaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cesar Jenaro to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Alvarado de Mar del Plata's Amancio Totakoxe got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Cesar Jenaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johann Scheuerer having to interfere. In the 65th match minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven Börger to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th minute Halil Winskowsky shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodosio Macerio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teodosio Macerio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Erler, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Cesar Jenaro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Damian Rito came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Alvarado de Mar del Plata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damian Rito couldn't finish the play. Noel Erler kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Alvarado de Mar del Plata's Teodosio Macerio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Halil Winskowsky in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute Halil Winskowsky shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodosio Macerio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cesar Jenaro in the 89th minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper Johann Scheuerer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th match minute, Alvarado de Mar del Plata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino Peru to maneuver through the defense. Johann Scheuerer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesar Jenaro in the 97th minute of play. Alvarado de Mar del Plata's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
