The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Lokomotiv Bornova booed when Hoberg United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oluf Stensvang didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lokomotiv Bornova's Çağan Demren shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 3rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Knut Grevad but with some difficulty. In the 8th minute, Hayati Tokyüz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Smedorf in the 10th minute of play forced Lokomotiv Bornova's goalkeeper Kahraman Kunter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mehmet Fatih Özakay got free with Knut Grevad in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Artaç Dalmaz hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Kahraman Kunter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Smedorf in the 23rd minute of play. Hoberg United's Knut Grevad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artaç Dalmaz in the 25th minute of play. Knut Grevad made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Artaç Dalmaz sent off a good shot on target. In the 32nd minute, Hoberg United's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Hayati Tokyüz fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Hayati Tokyüz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Knut Grevad came out and tried to block the shot, but Hayati Tokyüz slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 38th minute. Gafur Şahin hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The supporters of Lokomotiv Bornova booed when Hoberg United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calle Vidø didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Artaç Dalmaz to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Coşkun Usman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Knut Grevad was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Serter Çağnur scored 3-0 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Knut Grevad, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Lokomotiv Bornova getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Fahrettin Özdek hit a great ball. After 62 played minutes Lokomotiv Bornova got a freekick which was hit by Atacan Kirmanşah. In the 70th minute Coşkun Usman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Knut Grevad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Coşkun Usman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Knut Grevad was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. 82 minutes into the match, Hayati Tokyüz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Knut Grevad. Hoberg United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hayati Tokyüz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. In the 94th minute, Peter Smedorf got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Lokomotiv Bornova had played much better football throughout.
