Jean Van Damme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Medero, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Zosimo Vadillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Ruben Sánchez made a huge save. Jean Van Damme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luis Medero's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute, Sebastián Battaglia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th minute, Papillon AC's Medero Medina dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicolás Valentini was the one to do the kick off. Ruben Sánchez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gustavo Birila went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustavo Birila in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ruben Sánchez saved La Candela FC from getting behind. 66 minutes into the game, Gustavo Birila cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Ruben Sánchez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. La Candela FC's Rubén-Darío Feldmann was substituted for Nicolás Valentini. La Candela FC's Gabi Batistuta was substituted for Luis Medero. Thanks to some nice moves Walter Samuel could shoot a difficult shot in the 75th minute, which Jean Van Damme however easily saved by the left post. Ruben Sánchez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Birila in the 77th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, Papillon AC's goalkeeper Jean Van Damme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastián Battaglia. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zosimo Vadillo in the 84th minute of play forced La Candela FC's goalkeeper Ruben Sánchez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabi Batistuta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Jean Van Damme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roberto Rogel kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Gustavo Birila was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 93rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A hard shot 95 in the game by Rubén-Darío Feldmann from a close distance when the talented Jean Van Damme managed to make a qualified save. Papillon AC's players were relieved. In the 98th minute Zosimo Vadillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Sánchez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Papillon AC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
