Lobo Bicherakhov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kraig Fred in the 11th minute of play. Marcos Ranolfo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Cornelio Ruisko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luciano Leguizamón was the one to do the kick off. Luciano Leguizamón might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Ranolfo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcos Ranolfo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Adolfo de Amaral in the 70th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, ☬彡Lo多o Entrerriano彡☬'s João Adolfo de Amaral sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcos Ranolfo narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
