With his leg Bartosz Trzenzalski managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Newcastle United's Adam Pacholewski fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ema City were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Newcastle United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Selçuk Özgebay took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Selçuk Özgebay heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Bartosz Trzenzalski was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Thomas Vollmar showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 22 minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Ema City's José Carneiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mikolaj Jerzyk narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
