The audience thought a goal was coming when Silviu Stoian got free with Ibon Toraño in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Bobby Abreu sped through Rovine Craiova's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cezar Ghinescu.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Virgil Vergulescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cezar Ghinescu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Dacian Patrichi charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dacian Patrichi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dacian Patrichi kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
