Federico Girotti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cederik Huts read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. In the 21st minute Lode Rouvroys shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Jemella saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Kickers United defense, Federico Girotti kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cederik Huts. The Kickers United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cederik Huts should have stopped the shot. Cederik Huts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aquiles Francis in the 25th minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Aquiles Francis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Cederik Huts was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kickers United's Cederik Huts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carolo Cambranes in the 42nd minute of play. After the first half FC Unterrudling were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 53rd minute, Kickers United's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Aquiles Francis fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Federico Girotti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cederik Huts having to interfere. With a little luck, Kickers United's Cederik Huts got control of the ball when Aquiles Francis tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aquiles Francis got free with Cederik Huts in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 66 minutes into the match, Kickers United's goal looked a bit too open when Federico Girotti came free, but Cederik Huts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cederik Huts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Federico Girotti in the 68th minute of the match. FC Unterrudling made a substitution. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Unterrudling eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
