Tommy Sundbergs short, quick shot in the 5thth minute got Sergio Faron to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of El Retorno de Palermo booed when Pihl United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shea Caballero didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th match minute, El Retorno de Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celestino Nataniel to maneuver through the defense. 21 minutes into the game, Pihl United's Shea Caballero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sergio Faron made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Sergio Faron made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Tommy Sundberg sent off a good shot on target. Enrique Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio Faron having to interfere. After some careless play in the El Retorno de Palermo defense, Enrique Ferreira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sergio Faron. The El Retorno de Palermo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sergio Faron should have stopped the shot. Sergio Faron didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Shea Caballero went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. After 39th play minutes Tommy Sundberg shot 6-0, a short shot which went by Sergio Faron and just under the crossbar into goal. Sergio Faron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Sundberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sergio Faron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Ferreira in the 46th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, El Retorno de Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Tommy Sundberg came free, but Sergio Faron reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tommy Sundberg to make the kick off. In the 50th minute, Enrique Ferreira made a precise shot to the right of Sergio Faron. El Retorno de Palermo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. In the 61st match minute, El Retorno de Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damaso Estefan to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Ferreira in the 63rd minute of play forced El Retorno de Palermo's goalkeeper Sergio Faron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chico Dias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 85 minutes, Tommy Sundberg made it 13-0 with a short kick to the right side. El Retorno de Palermo's Sergio Faron tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. El Retorno de Palermo's Sergio Faron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Ferreira in the 89th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Cristian Napier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the match, Anderson Leal notched a goal, 14-0, to the right of El Retorno de Palermo's Sergio Faron. Sergio Faron was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 95th minute, Shea Caballero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pihl United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 15-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Pihl United fully deserved thier win.
