In the 22nd minute, Ballet Azul's Eladio Ulloa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nicodemo Recalde. Nicodemo Recalde yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 26thth minute of the game Eulalio Callejas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VILLANUEVA FC's Nicodemo Recalde was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 28th minute Jorge Vicente Soler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Luis Chilavert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 29th minute by Eulalio Callejas got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ballet Azul's José Luis Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcel Blanco in the 33rd minute of play. Eulalio Callejas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nicodemo Recalde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eulalio Callejas in the 34th minute of the match. Nicodemo Recalde came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Ballet Azul's Eulalio Callejas. But to his dismay, Eulalio Callejas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. With his leg Nicodemo Recalde managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Ballet Azul's Eulalio Callejas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jorge Vicente Soler was the one to do the kick off. If Xalvador Mac Kenney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicodemo Recalde came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Ballet Azul's Eulalio Callejas. But to his dismay, Eulalio Callejas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Ballet Azul's René Puente was substituted for Santiago Cardenas. VILLANUEVA FC's Nicodemo Recalde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eulalio Callejas in the 62nd minute of play. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind VILLANUEVA FC's goalkeeper Nicodemo Recalde, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nicodemo Recalde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eulalio Callejas, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute.
