Orfilio Orbañanos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but José Luis Chilavert made a huge save. 33 minutes into the match, U. de Tarapacá's goal looked a bit too open when Eulalio Callejas came free, but Ariel Balboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eulalio Callejas took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ariel Balboa. José Luis Chilavert was left in no man's land by his defense there! René Puente received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ariel Balboa came out and tried to block the shot, but René Puente slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 89th minute. A collision led to U. de Tarapacá getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Mark Devia hit a great ball. U. de Tarapacá's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Eladio Ulloa 97 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-3.
