Xacobo Barroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicodemo Recalde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Lepe, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 49thth minute of the game Marcel Blanco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zorros del Desierto's Clark Kent was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonathan Lepe to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Lepe in the 56th minute of play forced VILLANUEVA FC's goalkeeper Nicodemo Recalde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 86 played minutes VILLANUEVA FC got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Vicente Soler. Jonathan Lepe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicodemo Recalde read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Atahan Hatemoğlu hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonathan Lepe in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicodemo Recalde prevented the ball from getting in the gole. VILLANUEVA FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
