Edmundo Cañas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ariel Balboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Algarrobo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Juan Ignacio Vera in the 6th minute. Algarrobo's Juan Ignacio Vera was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ariel Balboa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Rafael Demanet hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Ariel Balboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Marchetti in the 8th minute of the match. With his leg Ariel Balboa managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when Algarrobo's Wilfredo Marchetti fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orfilio Orbañanos in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Everardo Ado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 28 minutes into the match, Wilfredo Marchetti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ariel Balboa.
