After some careless play in the Gloria defense, Carel Huiting kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bohuš Kadleček. The Gloria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bohuš Kadleček should have stopped the shot. Bohuš Kadleček showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leandro Soares in the 36th minute of the match. Bohuš Kadleček took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fc Benefica's attentive Eduard Gryshko managed to snatch the ball when Severino Atauri made a throw-in in the 39th minute of the game. Fc Benefica's Taco Uebels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvano Admon in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 78thth minute of the game Leandro Soares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gloria's Bohuš Kadleček was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 80 minutes into the game, Leandro Soares lined in a short shot 0-5 behind a frustrated Bohuš Kadleček. In the 83rd minute, Jens van Basten reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bohuš Kadleček. The goal made the score 0-6.
