Moritz Hasenjäger's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victoriano Lertxun read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. In the 38th minute Zé Paulo da Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victoriano Lertxun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Hertha 1969 from getting a goal against them. Zé Paulo da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Hertha 1969 defense, Lázaro Socorro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rune Jarstein. The Hertha 1969 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rune Jarstein should have stopped the shot. Claudinho Paranaense kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Victoriano Lertxun acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 96th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Moritz Hasenjäger. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Hertha 1969 had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
