In the 6th minute Sonny Majman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandru Chitimia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexandru Chitimia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Oskar Jakobsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 12th match minute, Pepsi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Petersson to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute, Cristinel Chivu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, FC Inter Craiova's goal looked a bit too open when Torsten Stålberg came free, but Alexandru Chitimia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the FC Inter Craiova defense, Simon Drake kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexandru Chitimia. The FC Inter Craiova fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexandru Chitimia should have stopped the shot. Alexandru Chitimia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Oskar Jakobsson in the 30th minute of the match. Mihai Stolojan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Sixten Tunström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ciprian Baba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The supporters of Pepsi FC booed when FC Inter Craiova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristinel Chivu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Pepsi FC's Charlie Kling tried to score from far away in the 57th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mihai Stolojan in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sixten Tunström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 63rd match minute, FC Inter Craiova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iustinian Uncuţă to maneuver through the defense. FC Inter Craiova's Alexandru Chitimia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Oskar Jakobsson in the 64th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Oskar Jakobsson in the 65th minute of play forced FC Inter Craiova's goalkeeper Alexandru Chitimia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute, Sonny Majman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpected shot in the 68th minute by Knut Backlund got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Simon Drake's late challenge caught a FC Inter Craiova's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Simon Drake helped the player get up and apologised. In the 76th minute, Simon Drake hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The FC Inter Craiova manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Pepsi FC to win.
