The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 6 played minutes Stiinta-Univ. got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Aluncai. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Johnny Skarkman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pepsi FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Johnny Skarkman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felix Ghee breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sandu Negara in the 11thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rune Lundin, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 19 minutes into the game, Sandu Negara was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stiinta-Univ.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pepsi FC the free kick. A collision led to Stiinta-Univ. getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Sandu Negara hit a great ball. Mircea Creangă's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rune Lundin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. When Mircea Creangă came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Stiinta-Univ. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mircea Creangă couldn't finish the play. Rune Lundin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mircea Creangă in the 37th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Knut Backlund ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Felix Ghee was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 43rd minute, Pepsi FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Mircea Creangă fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Rune Lundin made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Sandu Negara sent off a good shot on target.

The wind increased when Mircea Creangă made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Sandu Negara made a precise shot to the right of Rune Lundin. Pepsi FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Sandu Negara struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Rune Lundin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stiinta-Univ.. Mircea Creangă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rune Lundin having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Pepsi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mircea Creangă came free, but Rune Lundin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Stiinta-Univ.'s Mircea Creangă got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Sandu Negara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Knut Backlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manuel Aluncai during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
