The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Papunhas EC's Egídio Ferraz got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 7th minute Arnaldo Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauro Secco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute, Arnaldo Ramos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lauro Secco. The goal made the score 1-0. Armandinho Vergílio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Lauro Secco made a huge save. Wilton Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Papunhas EC's Chico Mangueira got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 20th play minute Armandinho Vergílio came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lauro Secco. 2-0. Telmo Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Furtado in the 24th minute of play. Papunhas EC's Lauro Secco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilton Romero in the 25th minute of play. Lauro Secco was a little too slow when Wilton Romero got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fernando Nogueira in the 34th minute of play forced A.A. Francana's goalkeeper Telmo Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th play minute Wilton Romero came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lauro Secco. 4-0. A collision led to Papunhas EC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Egídio Ferraz hit a great ball. Armandinho Vergílio succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 5-0 in the 42nd playminute. 45 minutes into the game, Arnaldo Ramos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lauro Secco. Arnaldo Ramos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 6-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Armandinho Vergílio to strike the kick off in the second half. Papunhas EC's Lauro Secco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evandro Lago in the 51st minute of play. Luís Fernando Nogueira hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Lauro Secco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armandinho Vergílio in the 58th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, Papunhas EC's goal looked a bit too open when Evandro Lago came free, but Lauro Secco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 63 played minutes Papunhas EC got a freekick which was hit by Guilherme Moraes. Papunhas EC's Lauro Secco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Ramos in the 64th minute of play. A collision led to Papunhas EC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Guilherme Moraes hit a great ball. 69 minutes into the match, Papunhas EC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilton Romero came free, but Lauro Secco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute, Luiz Fernando Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lauro Secco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armandinho Vergílio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Fernando Nogueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Telmo Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Cesinha Cordeiro fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Papunhas EC's protests and gave Cesinha Cordeiro a yellow card for diving instead. After 80 played minutes Papunhas EC got a freekick which was hit by Cesinha Cordeiro. Lauro Secco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilton Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Furtado kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Lauro Secco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wilton Romero went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of Papunhas EC booed when A.A. Francana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Vítor Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute Evandro Lago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauro Secco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. A.A. Francana fully deserved thier win.
