After a defensive mix-up in Catugi FC's zone, Joélson Donatello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luizão Braga came out of the goal and Joélson Donatello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luiz Gustavo do Valle hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Luizão Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joélson Donatello in the 22nd minute of play. After 25 played minutes Rio Verde F.C CIMZ got a freekick which was hit by Ivo Pernambucano. Silas Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. A hard shot by Ivo Pernambucano from long distance, 28 minutes into the match, got Luizão Braga's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Luizão Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Germano Domingues in the 38th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's Luiz Gustavo do Valle got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 46th minute, Geovani Vieira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 47 minutes, Ivo Pernambucano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rio Verde F.C CIMZ and the Catugi FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 47 played minutes Rio Verde F.C CIMZ got a freekick which was hit by Ivo Pernambucano. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Davi Proença to make the kick off. Luizão Braga was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Catugi FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Iuri Viana hit a great ball. Luizão Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joélson Donatello in the 92nd minute of play. Geovani Vieira hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
