But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Furtado couldn't finish the play. The coaching staff of Diamond Football Club protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jorge Peres had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Diamond Football Club fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 95th minute. Penalty! When the final whistle sounded Papunhas EC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Diamond Football Club.
