The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Montevideo's Ruy Loureiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléber Tróia in the 23rd minute of play. Ruy Loureiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cléber Tróia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cléber Tróia in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ruy Loureiro saved Montevideo from getting behind. In the 26th match minute, Montevideo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elivélton Quadros to maneuver through the defense. Ruy Loureiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléber Tróia in the 31st minute of play. ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's Luiz Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agostinho Senna in the 32nd minute of play. Ruy Loureiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cléber Tróia, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 37th minute, Montevideo's Elivélton Quadros seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Elivélton Quadros the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Montevideo protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Elivélton Quadros had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of Montevideo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ:s goal. Montevideo:s Ruy Loureiro showed great skill when he stopped Cléber Tróia:s penalty. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Carlos Tróia during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Zé Carlos Tróia hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. When Abelardo Toscano fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. After 65 minutes of play, ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's Cido Queirós made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ruy Loureiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ruy Loureiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cido Queirós in the 68th minute of play. When Didi Dionísio fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's protests and gave Didi Dionísio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd minute, Cido Queirós left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Eriberto da Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Cido Queirós took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruy Loureiro. Ruy Loureiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. 92 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Cido Queirós came free, but Ruy Loureiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
