Zé Carlos Tróia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Ernesto Favoretto made a huge save. Diamond Football Club's Ernesto Favoretto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonardo Medeiros in the 9th minute of play. Ernesto Favoretto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zé Carlos Tróia in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Gaspar in the 11th minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Ruy Loureiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Zé Carlos Tróia notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Diamond Football Club's Ernesto Favoretto. Ernesto Favoretto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ruy Loureiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ernesto Favoretto was a little too slow when Tadeu Correia got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 5-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zé Carlos Tróia was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Diamond Football Club getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Emílio Berger hit a great ball. Ernesto Favoretto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Carlos Tróia in the 54th minute of play. Ernesto Favoretto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tadeu Correia, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Bruninho Trigo's late challenge caught a Diamond Football Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruninho Trigo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Diamond Football Club booed when Montevideo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruninho Trigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Zé Carlos Tróia fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Montevideo's protests and gave Zé Carlos Tróia a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th match minute, Montevideo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Carlos Tróia to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute, Zé Carlos Tróia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Montevideo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. 74 minutes into the match, Tadeu Correia notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of Diamond Football Club's Ernesto Favoretto. When the referee ended the match the Montevideo players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
