MOC ⚽'s Doni Meirelles was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Artur do Nascimento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Doni Meirelles. ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Artur do Nascimento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Papunhas EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 12th minute, when Fred Coutinho scored to the left of an out of position Lauro Secco, making the score, 1-1. Papunhas EC's Lauro Secco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Papunhas EC from getting a goal against them. 15 minutes into the game, Claudinho Munhoz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Lauro Secco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fabiano Borel struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Lauro Secco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽. Frédson Rosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Doni Meirelles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. If Maurinho Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Artur do Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Papunhas EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Artur do Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doni Meirelles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Doni Meirelles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frédson Rosa in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute Maurinho Prestes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doni Meirelles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Papunhas EC booed when ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho Munhoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manfredo Reis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. David Furtado's late challenge caught a ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Furtado helped the player get up and apologised. David Furtado hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Maurinho Prestes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. After some careless play in the Papunhas EC defense, Manfredo Reis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lauro Secco. The Papunhas EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lauro Secco should have stopped the shot. After 90 minutes, Aloísio Freitas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ and the Papunhas EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th minute, Aloísio Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfredo Reis in the 94th minute of play forced Papunhas EC's goalkeeper Lauro Secco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
