Aureliano Petrigai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Simão Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Marcelito Cirion tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gogo Cordearo hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Punta Carretas FC's Fermin Robledo got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute Aureliano Petrigai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelito Cirion saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Simão Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Marcelito Cirion tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcelito Cirion made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aureliano Petrigai in the 17th minute of play. After 18 played minutes Punta Carretas FC got a freekick which was hit by Ugutz Urbina. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Simão Santos put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Marcelito Cirion. In the 31st minute, Wlodzimierz Raszek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35th minute, Aureliano Petrigai left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Golondrina FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 39 minutes into the match, Roque Peñacerrada notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Golondrina FC's Leopoldo Llope. Leopoldo Llope was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 45 minutes, Roque Peñacerrada managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Punta Carretas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roque Peñacerrada was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 48th minute of the match Bazil Bultes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leopoldo Llope skillfully saved the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Simão Santos made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Wlodzimierz Raszek recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcelito Cirion. Wlodzimierz Raszek showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Simão Santos got free with Marcelito Cirion in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Simão Santos put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Marcelito Cirion. Amadeo Olazabal kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Punta Carretas FC's Marcelito Cirion proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Punta Carretas FC from getting a goal against them. Amadeo Olazabal's late challenge caught a Golondrina FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amadeo Olazabal helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Golondrina FC booed when Punta Carretas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeo Olazabal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wlodzimierz Raszek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcelito Cirion made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Simão Santos sent off a good shot on target. Leopoldo Llope didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Siro Molinuevo went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score. Aureliano Petrigai's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelito Cirion read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Efrain Rubio was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 96 minutes into the match. Although Punta Carretas FC had been in control for most of the match, Golondrina FC still came away with the win.
