After having played for 5 minutes, Siro Molinuevo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Punta Carretas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Siro Molinuevo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Punta Carretas FC's Roque Peñacerrada was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 10th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Gürsel Şahinoğlu hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, MERDO's goal looked a bit too open when Siro Molinuevo came free, but Kahraman Alatay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Siro Molinuevo notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of MERDO's Kahraman Alatay. Kahraman Alatay was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Punta Carretas FC's zone, Ahmet Reha Serhan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelito Cirion came out of the goal and Ahmet Reha Serhan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, MERDO's Cabbar Kırca got a free kick in the 31st minute. After 35 played minutes, Punta Carretas FC's Bazil Bultes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kahraman Alatay came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Punta Carretas FC reached it. In the 37th minute of the match, Siro Molinuevo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kahraman Alatay saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Marcelito Cirion made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Özbek Sökmensu in the 41st minute of play. A hard shot 43 in the game by Roque Peñacerrada from a close distance when the talented Kahraman Alatay managed to make a qualified save. MERDO's players were relieved. Roque Peñacerrada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 47th match minute, MERDO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cabbar Kırca to maneuver through the defense. Kahraman Alatay was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Zigor Cuellar.

After 51 minutes, Kerimhan Hasret mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MERDO and the Punta Carretas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Punta Carretas FC booed when MERDO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kerimhan Hasret didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind MERDO's goalkeeper Kahraman Alatay, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to MERDO getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Ahmet Bülent Ümit hit a great ball. 65 minutes into the match, Punta Carretas FC's Siro Molinuevo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kahraman Alatay narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Siro Molinuevo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kahraman Alatay having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cabbar Kırca during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 73rd match minute, MERDO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cabbar Kırca to maneuver through the defense. Gürsel Şahinoğlu kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. During the 79th minute of the match Cabbar Kırca completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cabbar Kırca a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 80th match minute, MERDO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cabbar Kırca to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute, Zigor Cuellar sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and MERDO's Kahraman Alatay didn't even have to move. 84 minutes into the game, Punta Carretas FC's Siro Molinuevo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kahraman Alatay made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Roque Peñacerrada blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kahraman Alatay having to make a save. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Punta Carretas FC had played much better football throughout.
