The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Freddie Vennerberg fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The North Face's protests and gave Freddie Vennerberg a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to The North Face getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Freddie Vennerberg hit a great ball. Keith Brieve made in the 11th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Freddie Vennerberg. Patrick McLennan made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Qiao Nan Wen sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Flamengo's Tord Stolpe got a free kick in the 16th minute. Qiao Nan Wen did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Patrick McLennan 20 minutes into the match. If Li Nan Yu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 24th minute, Flamengo's Qiao Nan Wen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. 28 minutes in the game Keith Brieve did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Freddie Vennerberg. Qiao Nan Wen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Patrick McLennan having to make a save. Patrick McLennan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Qiao Nan Wen's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Qiao Nan Wen struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Patrick McLennan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Flamengo. A hard shot by Li Nan Yu from long distance, 37 minutes into the match, got Patrick McLennan's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Qiao Nan Wen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The North Face's Patrick McLennan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save The North Face from getting a goal against them. Joe Reid's late challenge caught a Flamengo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joe Reid helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th match minute, The North Face was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joe Reid to maneuver through the defense. Patrick McLennan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Qiao Nan Wen went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Flamengo's Tord Stolpe managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Vinny McNamell in the 46 minute of the game. In the 46th minute, Greger Strömbom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Qiao Nan Wen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Flamengo fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when Flamengo's Qiao Nan Wen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Qiao Nan Wen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Patrick McLennan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 61 minutes into the game, Flamengo's Qiao Nan Wen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Patrick McLennan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. When Kasper Bivall came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Flamengo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kasper Bivall couldn't finish the play. If Kasper Bivall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Freddie Saunders during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 73 played minutes The North Face got a freekick which was hit by Freddie Saunders. 74 minutes into the match, The North Face's goal looked a bit too open when Kasper Bivall came free, but Patrick McLennan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to The North Face getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Freddie Vennerberg hit a great ball. A collision led to The North Face getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Vinny McNamell hit a great ball. Kasper Bivall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Patrick McLennan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kasper Bivall in the 82nd minute of the match. Kasper Bivall took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Patrick McLennan. Patrick McLennan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Kasper Bivall might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Patrick McLennan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kasper Bivall ran back to his position shaking his head. Kasper Bivall scored 7-0 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Patrick McLennan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 93 minutes into the game, Keith Brieve was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The North Face's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flamengo the free kick. After 93 played minutes The North Face got a freekick which was hit by Keith Brieve. Patrick McLennan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Li Nan Yu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Flamengo fully deserved thier win.
