Avesta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aristide Ciuvică was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 17 minutes into the game, México Eterno MZC's Aristide Ciuvică nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jens-Ola Eklund made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 21st minute Aristide Ciuvică shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens-Ola Eklund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Avesta's Gelu Băcila sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jailson Aparecido narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Avesta's goalkeeper Jens-Ola Eklund, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Aristide Ciuvică managed to get in a good position for a shot. México Eterno MZC's supporters rose to their feet, but Aristide Ciuvică was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jens-Ola Eklund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th match minute, Avesta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentin Engman to maneuver through the defense. Jens-Ola Eklund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aristide Ciuvică in the 60th minute of play. The México Eterno MZC fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when México Eterno MZC's Aristide Ciuvică looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Avesta's Jens-Ola Eklund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aristide Ciuvică in the 65th minute of play. After 67 minutes Avesta's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Valter Malekin who took care of the corner kick. After 69 played minutes Avesta got a freekick which was hit by Gelu Băcila. If Richart Richardsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 71 minutes into the match, Avesta's goal looked a bit too open when Richart Richardsson came free, but Jens-Ola Eklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Richart Richardsson took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jens-Ola Eklund. Jens-Ola Eklund dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. 77 minutes into the match, Avesta's goalkeeper Jens-Ola Eklund had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Richart Richardsson. 79 minutes had been played when some careless play by Avesta's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Valter Malekin was slow to take the kick. During this time México Eterno MZC's players had a chance to rest. The audience was convinced that Richart Richardsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jens-Ola Eklund was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Jens-Ola Eklund had great luck who in the 89thth minute grab hold of the ball when Richart Richardsson from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Diego Ribas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The México Eterno MZC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing México Eterno MZC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
