Victor de Souza's late challenge caught a Terceirense F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victor de Souza helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th match minute, Expresso Ranelagh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor de Souza to maneuver through the defense. Robert Enke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Svetoslav Vardarov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aldo Anjos made in the 15th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Valter Lucena immediately put the ball in play. 18 minutes into the match, Expresso Ranelagh's goalkeeper Pablo Lohitzun had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gabriel Távora. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Terceirense F.C.'s goalkeeper Robert Enke, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Svetoslav Vardarov took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robert Enke. Robert Enke dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 27th minute, Svetoslav Vardarov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Robert Enke was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 31 minutes into the game, Terceirense F.C.'s Armando Parente nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pablo Lohitzun made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. 35 minutes into the match, Expresso Ranelagh's goalkeeper Pablo Lohitzun had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gabriel Távora. Gabriel Távora who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Pablo Lohitzun when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 46 played minutes Terceirense F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Zarco Sarmento. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Svetoslav Vardarov to strike the kick off in the second half. Svetoslav Vardarov succeeded in the game's 51st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-4.
