An unexpectedly hard shot by Arkadiusz Siekierka in the 12th minute of play forced New York Red Bulls's goalkeeper Eduardo Pereyra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eduardo Pereyra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgilio Mangas, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. A collision led to Fargo SC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Casper Tinselboer hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as New York Red Bulls's Nazım Taci slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dick van der Stoel. That made the score 1-1 after 18 minutes of play. In the 22nd minute, Nazım Taci reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dick van der Stoel. The goal made the score 2-1. Fargo SC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Nazım Taci scored to the left of an out of position Dick van der Stoel, making the score, 3-1. 31 minutes into the game, Nazım Taci recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dick van der Stoel. Nazım Taci showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-1. Klaas Gronden hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Eduardo Pereyra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arkadiusz Siekierka in the 37th minute of the match. Liviu Bărănescu kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Casper Tinselboer took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eduardo Pereyra. New York Red Bulls's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Fargo SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dick van der Stoel should have stopped the shot. Dick van der Stoel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nazım Taci went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 10-1 was the resulting score. Nazım Taci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dick van der Stoel having to interfere. George Schiau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Dick van der Stoel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sylvan Baggio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Eduardo Pereyra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. New York Red Bulls had won after a very even match.
