Eduardo Pereyra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chico Dias went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Eduardo Pereyra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enrique Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Enrique Ferreira scored 1-2 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eduardo Pereyra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 28th minute Daniel Waselewicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Pereyra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, New York Red Bulls's Salih Şahsuvaroğlu got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute of the match Luc Fontaine sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eduardo Pereyra skillfully saved the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Pihl United's Enrique Ferreira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eduardo Pereyra. That made the score 1-4 after 50 minutes of play. Enrique Ferreira hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Nicolaas Anelka got a throw-in 54 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Daniel Waselewicz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Sundberg in the 56th minute of play forced New York Red Bulls's goalkeeper Eduardo Pereyra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Basarab Panduru charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 91st minute, Tommy Sundberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eduardo Pereyra was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. Pihl United's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
