The BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gustavo Bueno should have stopped the shot. Naldo Passos hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. The supporters of BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF booed when Poetass FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Genílson Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. The tension between the Poetass FC and the BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th minute, Olavo Carioca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustavo Bueno didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudinho Saldanha went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. In the 27th minute, Cipriano Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 28 minutes, Claudinho Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Poetass FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinho Saldanha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Acácio Vidal kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After 31 minutes of play, Poetass FC's Benjamim Guedes made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gustavo Bueno was left in no man's land by his defense there! 35 minutes into the match, BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamim Guedes came free, but Gustavo Bueno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF defense, Olavo Carioca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gustavo Bueno. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olavo Carioca in the 49th minute of play forced BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF's goalkeeper Gustavo Bueno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-7 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Claudinho Saldanha made the kick off in the second half. Gustavo Bueno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olavo Carioca in the 54th minute. The Poetass FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-9. With a little luck, BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF's Gustavo Bueno got control of the ball when Olavo Carioca tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 76 minutes, Naldo Passos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Poetass FC and the BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Poetass FC's Naldo Passos got a free kick in the 76th minute. Gustavo Bueno made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Olavo Carioca sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Benjamim Guedes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poetass FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benjamim Guedes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo Bueno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 85 minutes into the match, BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamim Guedes came free, but Gustavo Bueno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cipriano Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cássio de Senna having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinho Saldanha in the 94th minute of play forced BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF's goalkeeper Gustavo Bueno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olavo Carioca came free with the goalkeeper in the 99th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gustavo Bueno could save by the left post. Poetass FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
