The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Olavarria FC's zone, Pierre Van Hinnendael stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michel Hendrickx came out of the goal and Pierre Van Hinnendael tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roland Vanden Broucke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaias Matas in the 10th minute of play. 12 minutes into the game, Isaias Matas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Roland Vanden Broucke was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 28 minutes into the match, Reinard Hennes notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Olavarria FC's Michel Hendrickx. Michel Hendrickx was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Michel Hendrickx stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reinard Hennes's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. 48 minutes into the match, Reinard Hennes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Michel Hendrickx. Olavarria FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reinard Hennes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Isaias Matas was the one to do the kick off. If Reinard Hennes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 53 minutes into the match, Olavarria FC's goalkeeper Michel Hendrickx had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reinard Hennes. Michel Hendrickx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reinard Hennes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Twelve Ravens's Roland Vanden Broucke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Kotlar in the 59th minute of play. Olavarria FC made a substitution. Ervigio Ojeda replaced Isaias Matas. If Ervigio Ojeda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 69 minutes into the match, Twelve Ravens's goal looked a bit too open when Ervigio Ojeda came free, but Roland Vanden Broucke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reinard Hennes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Michel Hendrickx having to make a save.
