Ulises Steven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdi Mehmet Rakim in the 27th minute of the match. Robertinho Carabajal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ludo Vanden Bossche having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Philippe-Arnaud Heremans in the 32nd minute of play forced AFC Koolkerke's goalkeeper Ulises Steven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ludo Vanden Bossche stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robertinho Carabajal's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Abdi Mehmet Rakim made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to AFC Koolkerke getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Víktor Veloso hit a great ball.
