Unai Sócrates hit a great ball. Isaias Matas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 15 minutes into the match, Fauna Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Isaias Matas came free, but Radamel Hendrickx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Isaias Matas in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Radamel Hendrickx prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fauna Utd's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Isaias Matas scored to the left of an out of position Radamel Hendrickx, making the score, 2-0. If Unai Sócrates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Unai Sócrates took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Michel Hendrickx. Michel Hendrickx dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Thys Lenoir kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Unai Sócrates in the 38th minute of play forced Olavarria FC's goalkeeper Michel Hendrickx to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Radamel Hendrickx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaias Matas in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute Isaias Matas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radamel Hendrickx saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute of the match Olavarria FC got a corner. Fauna Utd's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mauro Kotlar ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Olavarria FC's Catalino Rivarola getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Isaias Matas made the kick off in the second half. Michel Hendrickx showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Unai Sócrates, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 57 minutes into the game, Thys Lenoir threw the ball into play from the sideline. Fauna Utd's Octav Zdraşcu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Michel Hendrickx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Unai Sócrates, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olavarria FC made a substitution. Ervigio Ojeda replaced Isaias Matas. The supporters of Fauna Utd booed when Olavarria FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position.
