Luka Modrić charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luka Modrić the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 12 played minutes F.C. Paços de Ferreira got a freekick which was hit by Luka Modrić. The crowd rose to their feet as Oswaldo Junior kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Miguel Poças. That made the score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. Inácio Secco charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Inácio Secco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to F.C. Paços de Ferreira getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Inácio Secco hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Bomba in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Evelio Salvadore prevented the ball from getting in the gole. José Bomba blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Evelio Salvadore having to make a save. Evelio Salvadore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Bomba in the 32nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Orlan in the 34th minute of play forced F.C. Paços de Ferreira's goalkeeper Miguel Poças to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oswaldo Junior could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Miguel Poças made a huge save. Inácio Secco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evelio Salvadore having to interfere. Felix Orlan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute José Bomba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evelio Salvadore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evelio Salvadore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Bomba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute, Luis Galván hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when José Bomba made the kick off in the second half. José Bomba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Evelio Salvadore made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when José Bomba sent off a good shot on target.
