The supporters of Dragones Celestes booed when New York Red Bulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liviu Bărănescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sisebuto Frost in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eduardo Pereyra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basarab Panduru in the 16th minute of play forced Dragones Celestes's goalkeeper Altay Dağdelen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, New York Red Bulls's Eduardo Pereyra got control of the ball when Sisebuto Frost tried to sneak it across the goal line. Altay Dağdelen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nazım Taci in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 26th minute New York Red Bulls were awarded a corner. Basarab Panduru went to the cornerflag to take it. Eduardo Pereyra came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Dragones Celestes's Sisebuto Frost. But to his dismay, Sisebuto Frost quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Eduardo Pereyra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lin Chao Song in the 34th minute of play. In the 41st match minute, Dragones Celestes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Briceño to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nazım Taci in the 43rd minute of play forced Dragones Celestes's goalkeeper Altay Dağdelen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, George Schiau managed to get in a good position for a shot. New York Red Bulls's supporters rose to their feet, but George Schiau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Altay Dağdelen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 47th minute, Dragones Celestes's Emilio Felipe Quintupran dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sisebuto Frost made a kick off. A collision led to New York Red Bulls getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Salih Şahsuvaroğlu hit a great ball. If Rutenio Nilo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 60 played minutes New York Red Bulls got a freekick which was hit by Basarab Panduru. Altay Dağdelen was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nazım Taci showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 62 minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Tohias Alavedra in the 66th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by New York Red Bulls's Doru Coman. In the 72nd minute Sisebuto Frost shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Pereyra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd match minute, New York Red Bulls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristinel Alamaru to maneuver through the defense. Eduardo Pereyra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sisebuto Frost in the 75th minute of the match. The corner led New York Red Bulls's Basarab Panduru to fire away a dangerous shot which Altay Dağdelen despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Dragones Celestes's Rutenio Nilo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eduardo Pereyra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sisebuto Frost in the 98th minute of play forced New York Red Bulls's goalkeeper Eduardo Pereyra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dragones Celestes were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of New York Red Bulls for a fine match.
