Eduardo Pereyra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 5 minutes of play, Las Momias F. C.'s Mauricio Gaitano made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eduardo Pereyra was left in no man's land by his defense there! George Schiau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 15 minutes into the match, New York Red Bulls's goal looked a bit too open when Rogelio Fernado came free, but Eduardo Pereyra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Las Momias F. C.'s goalkeeper Carlo Amadei had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by George Schiau. Eduardo Pereyra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rogelio Fernado's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. 24 minutes into the match, Las Momias F. C.'s Hipolito Jerico sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eduardo Pereyra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If George Schiau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 27 played minutes New York Red Bulls got a freekick which was hit by Doru Coman. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doru Coman in the 31st minute of play forced Las Momias F. C.'s goalkeeper Carlo Amadei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, New York Red Bulls's Doru Coman got a free kick in the 32nd minute. New York Red Bulls's Eduardo Pereyra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauricio Gaitano in the 34th minute of play. Carlo Amadei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from George Schiau in the 38th minute of play. The supporters of Las Momias F. C. booed when New York Red Bulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basarab Panduru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eduardo Pereyra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauricio Gaitano in the 40th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. George Schiau was the one to do the kick off. George Schiau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Carlo Amadei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. George Schiau's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlo Amadei read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Las Momias F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when George Schiau came free, but Carlo Amadei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute, Las Momias F. C.'s Rogelio Fernado dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Schiau in the 73rd minute of play forced Las Momias F. C.'s goalkeeper Carlo Amadei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Mauricio Gaitano came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Las Momias F. C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauricio Gaitano couldn't finish the play. George Schiau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Las Momias F. C.'s Matheus Nascimento was substituted for Aristides Frederik. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Schiau in the 84th minute of play forced Las Momias F. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogelio Fernado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
