Vítor Baia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kartal Başar in the 21st minute of the match. Brugge United's attentive Laurențiu Roşculeţ managed to snatch the ball when Mili Martin made a throw-in in the 23rd minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Brugge United made a substitution. Arnauld Van Impe replaced Guido Vissenaeken. Brugge United's Will Deman managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Billy Hendrickx in the 55 minute of the game. 59 minutes into the game, Pepo Orihuela threw the ball into play from the sideline. Brugge United's Waud Huijbrechts quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion.
