The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes, FairPlay FC's Daniel Lopez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vasco Rovira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FairPlay FC reached it. 9 minutes into the match, FairPlay FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aztore Cobian came free, but Carlos Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aztore Cobian, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Kosisochukwu Ice-Cream Guobadia was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 13 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Daniel Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot. FairPlay FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Lopez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vasco Rovira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 17th match minute, FairPlay FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Zanette to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in FairPlay FC's zone, Serafino Berria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Monteiro came out of the goal and Serafino Berria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Deportivo Ortegano booed when FairPlay FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edson da Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clemente Zanette during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Clemente Zanette hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. If Sotero Besga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aztore Cobian struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Carlos Monteiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Ortegano. Carlos Monteiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Serafino Berria in the 39th minute. Sotero Besga scored 1-0 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos Monteiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Aztore Cobian struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Carlos Monteiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Ortegano.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jacinto Perez was the one to do the kick off. Deportivo Ortegano's Francesco Samano got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Steve Ice-Cream Guobadia hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Vasco Rovira acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 60th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Daniel Lopez. Serafino Berria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Carlos Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FairPlay FC's Carlos Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serafino Berria in the 72nd minute of play. Sotero Besga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute of the match, Ronaldinho de Souza tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Vasco Rovira saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Deportivo Ortegano's Aztore Cobian got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sotero Besga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Monteiro having to interfere. Aztore Cobian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emerson Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Sotero Besga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
