In the 17th minute, Olly Nethercot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Archie Gilroy kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Fargo SC's Bram Kiewit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Alexandersen in the 22nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arkadiusz Siekierka in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matthieu Abelard prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bram Kiewit made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Alexandersen in the 29th minute of play. Fargo SC's Bram Kiewit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bobby Bear in the 33rd minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Marc van Nistelrooij cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Matthieu Abelard was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Fargo SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Club Atlético de Newell were winning 1-2.

Fargo SC's Ciriaco Maule was substituted for Jan Bette. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arkadiusz Siekierka made a kick off. 63 minutes into the match, Marc van Nistelrooij notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Club Atlético de Newell's Matthieu Abelard. Matthieu Abelard was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marc van Nistelrooij sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Matthieu Abelard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marc van Nistelrooij, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Marc van Nistelrooij managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fargo SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marc van Nistelrooij was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matthieu Abelard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice moves Fausto Nazzaro could shoot a difficult shot in the 74th minute, which Bram Kiewit however easily saved by the left post. Virgilio Mangas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bram Kiewit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bobby Bear, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 90 minutes into the game, Arkadiusz Siekierka was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fargo SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atlético de Newell the free kick. After 90 played minutes Fargo SC got a freekick which was hit by Arkadiusz Siekierka. In the 94th minute, Olly Nethercot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
