Tiburcio Lain's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Piers Harris read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Fenerbahce1907's goal looked a bit too open when Tiburcio Lain came free, but Piers Harris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wigalf Hofmann got free with Bogdan Ghimpu in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 29th match minute, Fenerbahce1907 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Anselm to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Tiburcio Lain's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Piers Harris was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Samantha Saleh got free with Bogdan Ghimpu in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
Piers Harris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiburcio Lain in the 51st minute of play. After a rather tough play, London Lions's Rupert Rundle got a free kick in the 52nd minute. London Lions's Bogdan Ghimpu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Anselm in the 53rd minute of play. Piers Harris made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Leandro Guerra sent off a good shot on target. 61 minutes into the game, Lain Sánchez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. London Lions's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fenerbahce1907 the free kick. In the 76th minute Samantha Saleh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Ghimpu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samantha Saleh in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bogdan Ghimpu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 77 minutes into the match, Fenerbahce1907's goal looked a bit too open when Leandro Guerra came free, but Piers Harris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80thth minute of the game Wigalf Hofmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but London Lions's Bogdan Ghimpu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
