Olly Nethercot started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Sparsör BF booed when Club Atlético de Newell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harry Carson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sparsör BF were awarded a corner in the 6th minute after Club Atlético de Newell's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arrigo Maestri took the corner. Sparsör BF were furious when Brand Adis was red carded, 8 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Sparsör BF:s Arvid Säv showed great skill when he stopped Harry Carson:s penalty. Club Atlético de Newell's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Harry Carson in the 10th minute. After taking down the ball on Club Atlético de Newell's corner Harry Carson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arvid Säv quite easily take care of the ball. After 15 played minutes Club Atlético de Newell got a freekick which was hit by Bobby Bear. Arvid Säv took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bobby Bear, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 20 played minutes Club Atlético de Newell got a freekick which was hit by Harry Carson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bobby Bear in the 36th minute of play forced Sparsör BF's goalkeeper Arvid Säv to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hugo Alexandersen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Arvid Säv made a huge save. If Olly Nethercot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Sparsör BF's Arrigo Maestri got a free kick in the 47th minute. In the 47th minute, Harry Carson fired a really elegant long shot, but Arvid Säv threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aurelio Cesaro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Bobby Bear cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Arvid Säv was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The attack was good, but when Mei Zhen Chuan in the 56th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Sparsör BF's Per-Oskar Bergsten was substituted for Eskil Asklund. Arvid Säv showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bobby Bear in the 60th minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's goalkeeper Matthieu Abelard had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adrian Bark. When Olly Nethercot came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Club Atlético de Newell fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olly Nethercot couldn't finish the play. If Olly Nethercot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 77 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's goal looked a bit too open when Aurelio Cesaro came free, but Matthieu Abelard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 78 minutes Club Atlético de Newell's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Arrigo Maestri who took care of the corner kick. Sparsör BF's Arrigo Maestri was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Matthieu Abelard in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Arvid Säv showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Alexandersen in the 81st minute of the match. Sparsör BF's Arvid Säv played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bobby Bear in the 83rd minute of play. When Club Atlético de Newell's Bobby Bear in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sparsör BF's goalie prevented a goal. Arvid Säv made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bobby Bear in the 85th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Club Atlético de Newell fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sparsör BF had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
