In the 45th minute Sebastian Percival shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ezequiel Osmundo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th match minute, Club Atlético de Newell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Dunning to maneuver through the defense. Thurowken's Gustaw Tylenda was substituted for Svante Ahlberg.

The audience was convinced that Sebastian Percival's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ezequiel Osmundo was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Thurowken's goalkeeper Ezequiel Osmundo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 90 minutes into the game, Sebastian Percival cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-6. Ezequiel Osmundo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 95 played minutes Club Atlético de Newell got a freekick which was hit by Pastor Eufemio. Teofil Wawak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Dušan Ančic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
