Claudinei Albuquerque kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, EDI MZB's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano Pinho came free, but Tarcisio Gerber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, Marcelinho Cabral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. EDI MZB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Agua Santa the free kick. Tarcisio Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nico Quintal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Nico Quintal charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nico Quintal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 55 played minutes Agua Santa got a freekick which was hit by Nico Quintal. Tarcisio Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cipriano Pinho in the 57th minute of the match. Zé Roberto de Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, Agua Santa's goal looked a bit too open when Flavinho Donato came free, but Tomé Mota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Flavinho Donato got free with Tomé Mota in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Flavinho Donato got free in front of the goal in the 64th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Tomé Mota was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. EDI MZB's Claudinei Albuquerque managed to work through Agua Santa's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Claudinei Albuquerque dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Claudinei Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Tomé Mota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Agua Santa's Alan Moreira seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alan Moreira the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Agua Santa protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alan Moreira had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Agua Santa made a substitution. Danilo Palmeira replaced Cipriano Pinho. When the match had been going on for 84 minutes, EDI MZB's Roberto Baiano got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Tomé Mota. In the 88th minute Júnior Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tarcisio Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lúcio Viana in the 91st minute of the match. Claudinei Albuquerque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé Mota having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the EDI MZB players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Agua Santa.
