Silvinho Macedo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luiz Fernando Silva. Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. César Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Jovens Democratas MZC's Aílton Sousa got a free kick in the 20th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Jovens Democratas MZC's zone, Marcelinho Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Fernando Silva came out of the goal and Marcelinho Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luiz Fernando Silva didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcelinho Cabral went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulinho Fonseca in the 36th minute of play forced EDI MZB's goalkeeper Tarcisio Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulinho Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tarcisio Gerber having to interfere. Tarcisio Gerber stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedrinho Cavalcante's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. In the 45th match minute, Jovens Democratas MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aílton Sousa to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulinho Fonseca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Jovens Democratas MZC's zone, Marcelinho Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Fernando Silva came out of the goal and Marcelinho Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavinho Donato in the 54th minute of play forced Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, EDI MZB's Geovani Mandrak got a free kick in the 59th minute. 61 minutes into the match, EDI MZB's goalkeeper Tarcisio Gerber had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedrinho Cavalcante. Pedrinho Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tarcisio Gerber having to interfere. If Marcelinho Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Fernando Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júnior Sampaio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 71 minutes, Benedito Tande mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jovens Democratas MZC and the EDI MZB players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benedito Tande hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. 76 minutes into the match, Júnior Sampaio notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Jovens Democratas MZC's Luiz Fernando Silva. Luiz Fernando Silva was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to EDI MZB getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Roberto Baiano hit a great ball. The long shot by Benedito Tande in the 81st minute really tested Tarcisio Gerber's skills. After 83 played minutes, Jovens Democratas MZC's Benedito Tande shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tarcisio Gerber came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jovens Democratas MZC reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Aílton Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jovens Democratas MZC's supporters rose to their feet, but Aílton Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tarcisio Gerber breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 90 minutes into the game, Marcelinho Cabral cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Luiz Fernando Silva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. EDI MZB's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
